Pennsylvania State Police have released new information about Monday's manhunt for an armed robbery suspect that shut down Interstate 83 in York County.
PSP says Jajyevoune Lee, 22, while attempting to escape police, tried to carjack a woman on I-83 and shot her in the chest.
PSP identified the victim as a 53-year-old woman from Shrewsbury, York County.
"After running for a short distance, Lee was taken into custody by Troopers. Once Lee was in custody Troopers rendered first aid to the operator of the vehicle, who was alert and conscious. She was then transported to York Hospital by EMS," police said in a statement.

PSP said Lee was also wanted on multiple felony warrants for violent crimes in Baltimore.
Police said the incident started around 7 a.m. on Monday when a woman, sitting in her vehicle, was robbed in a parking lot along East Market Street near Edgewood Road in York.
According to court documents, a black male approached the woman, pointed a pistol at her head, neck and chest and demanded money from her and a passenger.
Police said the robber took a bag that had about $200 in it and fled in a white Hyundai SUV with Maryland tags.
PSP spotted the vehicle heading south on I-83 near mile marker nine and pulled it over. Police said when they pulled over the SUV, a black male was driving, but he switched seats with a female passenger, jumped out the passenger door and ran away.
Around 2:10 p.m., police said they began getting multiple calls of a male matching Lee's description walking along Commerce Drive in Springfield Township, York County. When troopers arrived, Lee ran away, which led to the attempted carjacking, shooting and his capture.
The woman who was traveling with Lee was later identified as Soria Wake.
"At the time of apprehension, Wake told Ofc. Brett Stricker that she did not know the male and was only giving him a ride," court documents stated.
