DELPHOS — Helen M. Ardner, 93, of Delphos passed away Sunday evening at Vancrest of Delphos surrounded by her children.

She was born on June 21, 1929, in Delphos to Arthur and Cecelia (Kaskel) Kindley, who both preceded her in death.

On Sept. 2, 1950, she married Charles N. Ardner, who survives in Delphos. They shared 72 beautiful years of marriage.

Helen is also survived by two sons, Larry Ardner of Copley and Kevin (Kelly) Ardner of Delphos; four daughters, Sharon Hess of Rushsylvania, Mary Lynn (Richard Bolander) VanDerVeer of Mount Blanchard, Elaine (Gary) Rode of Landeck and Julie (Kevin) Knebel of Delphos; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruthella Foust and Thelma Miller; a brother, Robert Kindley; daughter-in-law, Lenore Ardner; and great-grandchild, Aiden.

Helen was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos, where she served as a communion distributor and money counter. She was a volunteer with the Thrift Shop, Meals on Wheels, Hospital Visitation Team and as a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was a member of the Allen County Election Board, Catholic Daughters of America and Delphos Senior Citizens Center for many years.

Helen enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening and baking. Her true joy was watching her grandchildren's events. Above all she loved spending time with her family.

A Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday at Weber Funeral Home, Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Schools Tuition Assistance or to the Allen County Right to Life.
